• Mobile Only

    > First, I should always have a Mobile Only persona in my mind when creating a site. That use case may be small now (in America), but it won’t be for long. In India, for example mobile usage has already overtaken desktop use.

Excellent point. I use my phone/tablet to surf the web, not the computer.

  • Safari on iOS 7 and HTML5: problems, changes and new APIs

    > Apple has rolled out iOS 7 and in a few days the new devices iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C . As expected Apple has publish just 10% of the necessary information for web developers and I can say without fear of mistake that this is the buggiest Safari version since 1.0. In this post I’ll show you the new APIs and abilities and most of the problems that you will need to deal with right now if you have a website or a webapp.

Good walkthrough of changes to mobile Safari introduced by iOS 7.

  • Themes for Chrome Developer Tools

Not officially supported by Chrome, but it looks kind of useful. My favorite theme for Sublime Text, [Soda](http://buymeasoda.github.io/soda-theme/) is not available yet though. That’s a bummer.

  • iOS: A visual history

The Verge has posted a great overview of the history of iOS. I still remember my feeling of “this is the future of phones” when Steve introduced the iPhone on stage. I also remember saving all my money, importing the original iPhone (since it never was sold in Sweden) and hacking it to get support for the swedish alphabet. Good times.

  • Creative Mornings – Seth Godin

    > The myth of the overnight success is just that, a myth. — Seth Godin

  • “Creative” is An Insult

    Mårten Björk:

    > I’ve read countless books on programming, web standards, typography, color theory, grid layout, digital strategy, advertising… I’ve spent years trying to improve my work, iterating over and over. For every solution we show a client, we tested hundreds of possible combinations in our heads before reaching our conclusion.

    > We acquire skills and then we use them to solve problems.

Take one minute and read this.

  • CuttySSark, trigger JS events from your stylesheets

This looks like a lot of fun. Might be useful, need to try it out.

  • Glide.js – Lightweight & Fast jQuery Slider

Glide.js is a lightweight, responsive and touch-friendly jQuery slider. Based on CSS3 transitions with fallback to older browsers. It’s really simple and the impact looks minimal.

  • Emmet Cheat Sheet

Great overview of how to use the syntax of Emmet. A good way to speed up front-end development.

  • Adobe Generator

    > Generator allows you to create image assets in real time as you work, eliminating the tedious steps of copying, slicing and exporting each layer manually, and saving you hours of time. Simply add a file extension to the name of your layer or layer group, and Photoshop will automatically create a JPG, PNG or GIF from the contents of that layer. If you make a change to that layer, the file is immediately updated. This means that you now have a folder of images that are always up-to-date with your Photoshop design.

Photoshop introduced integrated asset slicing for Photoshop CC users today. Will be interesting to see how usefull designers around the web think it is, since I’m not a CC-subscriber (at least yet).

  • Kodebyraaet

Lovely website. I’m especially found of the menu. Norway is filled with great designers and developers.

  • The iOS 7 Design Cheat Sheet

A good link to bookmark if you design for iOS.

  • Hard graft

I love all products from hard graft. It’s Christmas soon, so maybe it’s time for a new weekend bag this year.

  • Delight is in the Details – eBook by Shawn Blanc

    > It takes significant time and talent to bridge the gap between good design and great design. Many designers find themselves working with clients or bosses who would prefer to squeeze additional features into a product rather than taking the time to polish and refine what has already been done. Moreover, what can a designer do when they have the desire and willpower to make a great product but they lack the talent?

    Sounds like a great read.

  • New website – Creative Mornings

    Brilliant.
